While many of us are managing well with the ongoing pandemic, some find it a challenge to cope as they have lost families and the lockdowns has closed doors of opportunity on their livelihoods.
On 13 August 2021, SD Guthrie International (SDO) joined forces together with Malaysian fast-moving consumer goods (FCMG) companies – Baba’s, Mamee and Etika – to deliver products worth more than RM 90,000 to the Food Aid Foundation as part of Baba’s #KitaBersama Campaign.
Food Aid Foundation, or FAF, is a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Malaysia that serves as a food bank to the less fortunate. Having collaborated with numerous organizations and the public alike, FAF distributes donated items received from corporation and the public to charitable homes, welfares, refugee communities, poor families as well as soup kitchens since 2013.
Representing SDO for the delivery of 2,500 1KG ALIF Cooking Oil was Senior Manager of SDO Consumer Sales and Food Services, Mohammad Rahimi Abdullah and Manager of Branding and Marketing, Elly Kartereena Ahmad Kamal, where it was transported to FAF’s distribution center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Through these donations, FAF will distribute the food and beverages to those most affected by the pandemic, especially in Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas in the Klang Valley.
SD Guthrie International believes that through shared value initiatives like these, our local communities will be able to get back on their feet and provides a glimmer of hope in these trying times.
